Roger Thiede was in high school when he was first inspired by Lindy Hop after seeing the movie “Swing Kids” He took his first Lindy Hop class in the summer of 2003 and he was hooked!  Roger loves every incarnation of Swing. He has explored East Coast and West Coast Swing, but his heart remains with his first love, Lindy Hop.

Roger has placed in the winner circle at various swing dance venues; he has performed with bay area performance groups and started teaching Lindy Hop in 2008. He travels a lot and takes the opportunity to social dance at every destination!

Roger’s personal belief is: “as an Engineer I see elegance in simple logic. Good Lindy Hop is an expression of simple actions and reactions in perfect harmony.”
