In the swingin’ summer of 2014, a coworker nudged Liwen Chen into the vibrant world of Lindy hop at Wednesday Night Hop – It was love at first dance! From that moment, she was hooked, swingin’ and jivin’ her way into the heart of this exhilarating dance scene. She is an alumni member of Shimmytown, a solo jazz performance group that performed locally and competed at ILHC. She looks forward to sharing dance ideas, techniques and reflections on the transformative journey with the dance community!

Liwen’s passion also encompasses traveling and connecting with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Liwen’s wish is for dancers to communicate their emotions, stories, and creativity through dance, breaking through all language barriers, and sharing joy in its purest form.
