Heather Mirletz started dancing in 2008 when she was adopted by the Case Western Reserve University Swing Club. She went on to teach, be elected President, and host the SparX Workshop with her new swing family. Prior to moving to CA, she also traveled, taught, and placed in competitions throughout the Midwest.
In her teaching and dancing, Heather is valued for her exuberance and joy, while emphasizing the physics of the movement, and the feeling of the connection – we dance because it’s fun and it feels good.
Off the dance floor, Heather enjoys hiking, knitting with assistance from her black cat, board games with friends, and wrangling baby elephant seals to nurse them back to health at the Marine Mammal Center.
