Jazz Attack: LIVE Interview with Lindy Legend Sugar Sullivan

September 24, 2020 @ 5:00pm - 7:00pm PDT

From the Facebook event description:

Sugar Sullivan started her career as a performer, choreographer, teacher and professional dancer at the age of nine. Sugar was a member of the Original Jazz Dancers, a distinguished group of Lindy Hoppers and Hoofers from Harlem’s heyday. Sugar has been featured with the Harlem Blues & Jazz Band, Cab Calloway’s Hi-De-Ho Orchestra, Duke Ellington Orchestra, Count Basie Orchestra, and Panama Francis and his Savoy Sultans among others.

Join us as we discuss what it was like to dance in the Savoy Ballroom, challenges and stories from traveling the US and the world as a performing artist, and thoughts on what lies at the heart of Lindy Hop.

All times in EST —
8:00-9:00pm LIVE Interview with Sugar Sullivan, conducted by Mike McDermott!
9:00-9:20pm The JA Camp Meeting Hangout with your hosts Nick and Jennifer
9:20-10:00pm DJ’ed & Narrated set with DJ Lauren Levey

We have begun using password protection for our meetings to ensure the security of our events. That password is: jazz
Our weekly virtual hangouts will have moderators ensuring the security of our event, and our Safer Spaces team will still be operational to report any concerns and address issues. Find our full code of conduct and contact information here.
