CalBal is for everyone! CalBal Live is a complete rethink of California Balboa Classic in light of COVID concerns. We’ve rethought classes, contests, and entertainment so -anyone- can attend no matter where they happen to be.

Community & Organizing Track- non-dancing classes on running contests, workshops, local scenes & more

Contests:
Solo Shuffle: no partner needed – we provide the music you bring the footwork
Any Swing Goes/ Balboa Follies- one dancer, two dancers, teams, quarantine pods or isolated! Send us videos of you dancing: Bal, Shag, Lindy, Triple Threat Solo Jazz, etc!
Edit your video together if you cannot safely be in the same space. Any music you want!
CalBal Film Fest: Get artsy with angles, editing, dancing, not dancing, tell us a story of how you’ve survived this year ~ music or no music ~ whatever you want to express
Videos that have not placed in the top 3 in another contest can be recycled for CalBal!
