Student night with Clint Baker and the Cafe Borrone All Stars brought record numbers to Wednesday Night Hop. We burst open at the seams and had to open up the whole dance floor to accommodate all of us out there! Thanks for being a friendly crowd bringing baked goods and dancing with our guests from Leadership Public High School who learned how to lindy hop from Trevor and Audrey during the third week of May '09.

LIVE MUSIC IS BACK! We had such an amazing night at our Mardi Gras Party dancing to Clint Baker and the Cafe Borrone All-Stars, that we had to bring them back! Their distinctive New Orleans style jazz returns on May 20th for another HOT show!

For over 17 years, Clint Baker has led a New Orleans style jazz ensemble at the Cafe Borrone in Menlo Park. Selecting only the best traditional jazz musicians to perform with him gives listeners the opportunity to be entertained by extraordinary music. The group is comprised of band leaders and key members of world class traditional jazz bands. The regular members of the Cafe Borrone All-Stars include: Clint Baker (various instruments), Leon Oakley (trumpet), Robert Young (reeds), Jim Klippert (trombone), Monte Reyes (guitar/banjo), and Bill Reinhart (bass). Trevor and Audrey are thrilled to have been invited to Leadership Public School to teach lindy hop to the students as a part of their "Week Without Walls" program. The students in the program will be joining us for the evening to hear Clint Baker and His All-Stars and see what this lindy hop thing is all about. We think this is such a wonderful idea that we are extending a special discount for the evening to all high school and college students. $5 off if you have a valid student ID!

That means if you want to take the beginning lesson and come to hear the band, it's only $10 and if you come for just the band it's only $5. Are we crazy?! Yes, crazy for the kids. We love them and all their energy and want to bring it to Wednesday Night Hop.
