Wow! We had SO MUCH FUN celebrating our 4-Year Anniversary with Stompy Jones and 100+ of our closest friends! We can't forget to thank Kim Tran for baking us an amazing homemade chocolate birthday cake for WNH. Jeff Clark & Colleen Colla for inviting so many new people to come celebrate with us. If anyone had snacks that night, some of the tasty treats were donated by Frank Le and our very own Gilles Bouvier. Thanks to everyone who packed the floor in record numbers and to Stompy Jones for playing terrific music, the night was certainly one to remember because of all of you! No foolin'! It's our Anniversary Party featuring Stompy Jones! Wednesday, April 1st! We are going to have a blast, so make sure you join us for this special event celebrating 4 years of Wednesday Night Hop! And, who better to celebrate with but the band that helped us start it all 4 years ago... Stompy Jones!!! At our original location at Steppin Out, Stompy Jones packed the dance floor every month with their wide variety of swingin' Lindy and jumpin' blues. Now they're back to help us swing it in style at our new home at Starlite Cheryl Burke Dance Club. Our anniversary party is going to be so big, we're moving it to the main ballroom! Plenty of room for everyone! Come out and help us celebrate our 4 Year Anniversary!

Stompy Jones:

Stompy Jones is a San Francisco based sextet, renowned for their jumpin' rhythm, wailing improvisations, hip charm and explosive stage show. Whether appearing at a posh supper club, concert hall, festival or down the road a piece, the solid sounds of these journeymen of jump are delivered in the romping, joyous, overwhelming style of jazz that came to be known as Rock and Roll!

Little David Rose's thumpin' stand-up bass, the double-shuffle drumming of Lee Beary, and the bounce piano of Scott Lawrence provide the rhythmic foundation of the band's jump style. Riffing on top is the trumpet sound of Robert Dehlinger and Erv Ervin on the saxophone. These two fellas create the fireworks of vintage rhythm and blues. The charming Christopher Binnings' soulful vocals have become a trademark of Stompy Jones.
